I don’t know why, but for some reason, Tony looks so much older in the basement scene with Gibbs.
Like, his worrying about Ziva is physically taking a toll on him.
And it’s kind of breaking my heart.
I saw this line somewhere once and I would kill to have Gibbs say it on the show.
Like after a moment where we see that Gibbs has truly realized the gravity of Tony and Ziva’s feelings for each other, he goes to autopsy and kind of sits there and
“My kids are in love, Duck.”
What you thinking about Gibbs?
Fishing
In which Tony *doesn’t* look at Ziva harder than he’s ever leered at any woman in his life, including back in the S1/S2 days, and Gibbs notices and Is Suspicious.
In some ways, this moment where Tony so pointedly refrains from so much as looking at Ziva - when so much of their relationship has been conducted in loaded stares and unspoken subtext - was even more of a gut-punch for me than Tony’s near-confession-of-love in the previous scene. Like overall the “my Hebrew’s not as good as I thought” scene hurts more in the long run, but as I was watching the immediate and visceral reaction to this scene was so much stronger because if there’s one thing Tony DiNozzo does not do, it is not look at Ziva David. And Ziva’s reaction to it is so strong as well, because she is also obviously not accustomed to Tony not looking at her - hell, with the way the two of them function as partners, him not looking at her at a crime scene and therefore cutting off that line of communication completely has to be incredibly jarring for her.
And then of course, of course Gibbs notices that something is wrong with his kids, because they’re his kids and they’re his agents and something is very wrong if Tony is not looking at Ziva. And he needs to know how this is going to affect their ability to work to their best ability, but he also needs to know how it’s affecting them, because he loves them. But they’re working a case, and there’s no time to get into this now, so he sends them off to get shit done and files this away to address later.
I wonder how much of this was in the script and how much of it was directing/acting choices on the part of the cast and whoever was directing this episode. Weatherly’s stone face is insane, I just cannot with him in this scene, and Cote is playing off of it incredibly well and showing a great combination of vulnerability and armor that’s so Ziva. And of course Mark Harmon reacts to things like nobody’s business and his face is a treasure.

Ziva + Team’s reaction - 10x22 - Revenge
Mcgee: Whaaat?
Tony: Honey, I thought I told you to come with us to MTAC?
Gibbs: Do you know how much fucking paperwork they are gonna make us do?
Yeah, Ziva realised she loved Tony and now she pushes him away.
Anything you didn’t tell me about Berlin?
Or Paris?
Tony asking permission to break rule 12.
The man is in his 40s, and as we have seen this whole season, he is stronger and more courageous than the rest of the team put together, including Gibbs. He has found the love of his life,…
McGee, do you need your old training wheels for a quick refresher lesson on stealthiness?Oh, we burst out laughing at this part. Then the car drives off… LMFAO
